Based on a true story, MAMBO MAN is the story of JC, a local Cuban music producer and promoter, farmer and above all a father; juggling many roles in order to stay on top – a ‘big fish in a small pond’ -who lives by his wits and imagination.
MAMBO MAN is the debut feature film from co-directors Mo Fini and Edesio Alejandro with an original screenplay by Mo Fini.The film is produced by Julio Cesar (Cuba) and Zadoc Nava (UK) through Tumi Productions (UK).
The acclaimed Cuban actor Hector Noas plays JC and Isael Yudexi de la Torre Mesa plays his wife, Rita. Their beautiful and curious daughter is played by Camila Chile.
MAMBO MAN is a drama with a strong musical component, and the soundtrack features a stellar line up of musicians, including Grammy award-winning Eliades Ochoa (from Buena Vista Social Club), Juan de Marcos Gonzalez (from the Afro-Cuban All Stars), Candido Fabre, David Alvarez and others.
Mambo Man is edited in Cuba by Edesio Alejendro and is scheduled for release at the end of 2019.
